Motherhood can be murder in this deliciously devious drama
Sarah’s seemingly perfect life as a local GP, loving wife and doting mother comes crashing down the moment she discovers her husband Anton is having an affair with her best friend Charlotte.
Suddenly, Charlotte turns up dead, and Anton is arrested for her murder. As Sarah’s life spirals out of control, she finds unlikely support from a ragtag group of mums called ‘The Bad Mothers Club’.
Sarah finds herself drawn into the chaotic worlds of her new friends; Danielle the outgoing mum who needs more in her life; Bindy, the wild child party mum; and Maddie, the fierce mum battling with a difficult child and an acrimonious custody battle.
There’s just one thing stopping Sarah from leaving the mess of her old life behind her; Anton swears he’s innocent. Now Sarah will have to add ‘detective’ to her already lengthy list of jobs if she is to clear her husband’s name.
- A sexy, glossy, funny drama about modern women juggling life’s big issues; love, family, careers, infidelity … and murder.
- Nine Network’s biggest drama launch of the year
- Ranked No.1 in the slot and increased Nine's share by over 50%

Maddie eventually met the love of her life, Jesse, at a music gig where Jesse was on the sound desk. Jesse was yang to Maddie’s yin. They fell madly in love and bought a tiny house, but most of their money went on travel. Then Maddie suddenly realised she wanted a child so badly that her biological clock was almost deafening.
Bindy is a personal trainer. Attractive, energetic, outgoing and absolutely the centre of her own universe, she never suffers from dull things like self-doubt or remorse.
At 16, Bindy fell pregnant. It took her a while to tell her parents because she knew they’d get mad. She thought about a termination, but all her friends at school thought she was way cool – and her mum offered to help out. How hard could it be? London was gorgeous and cute, but then Bindy’s friends weren’t all that interested in babies.
Bindy met Danielle on a boot camp and that’s how she also met Maddie. They have their own joke club, the Bad Mothers Club, in opposition to the snotty school mums from the Bedford Mothers Club. She has an active (Tinder) sex life and no intention of getting tied down until she’s really old – at least 30. Bindy finds the whole parenthood thing a breeze because her parents have shouldered most of the burden. But Bindy’s parents are about to drop a bomb on her life.
Charlotte is a mother and homemaker. But beware of soft-sounding labels: Charlotte is sharp as a tack, poised and authoritative. She is sociable and stylish and very aware of status.
Charlotte is the head of the school committee and a formidable organiser, charming as well as ruthless. She has two children, Julius (15) who is thoughtful and sensitive, and Lucy (8) who is smart, precocious and naughty.
From a wealthy background, Charlotte used to work in PR. She met a handsome, determined yachtie, Kyle Evans. He was proud, immune to easy charm, unimpressed by money. They fell passionately in love and Charlotte fell pregnant. They married and she turned her powers to raising their son and creating an amazing home. Kyle went to work for her father.
Those early years were happy. But Charlotte found Kyle’s taciturn stubbornness and refusal to socialise increasingly irritating.
